It’s that time of the year again when we’re pushed to be reflective and remember all that
we have to be grateful for. I try to be grateful every day and let those around me know I
appreciate them in real time. I am thankful for each new day, good health, and the love of
family and friends.
That being said, 2022 was an incredible year for us as a company. It started with our wines
winning recognition from the industry and amassing a total of 32 medals signifying the
outstanding quality of our Wine Safari and culminating in our recognition by the San
Francisco Business Times as having one of the Most Admired CEOs in the San Francisco Bay
Area. I have often shared that I have the hardest working team in the industry! I am
extremely grateful for each and every one of them. I appreciate how we feel like family; how
we root for each other to do well and how we show up at our best. Each of them is a
partner in our success which makes what I do that much easier and meaningful.
I am grateful for our customers who are the other integral part of our system. As a small
business, we’re dependent on the kindness of strangers to spread the word in a very
grassroots manner. I am often humbled by this kindness, and most of these strangers are
now part of our Wachira family. It has been heartwarming to have their support through the
years and more so this year as we dug ourselves out of the pandemic.
